AI impact · primary-source study summaries

What it covers

Selected factual outcomes from Science, QJE, METR, Scientific Reports, JAMA Network Open and IEA 2026. Publication dates, study populations and evidence types remain separate.

Limits

Independent factual summaries, not reproduced source datasets or figures. Historical experiments do not measure current tools. Forecasts, assumptions, exploratory arms and measured outcomes are labelled; studies are not pooled.

Original source

ILO · occupational task exposure

What it covers

Mean potential task-automation score and within-occupation task dispersion from the ILO public chart. CC BY 4.0, adapted with attribution and non-endorsement notice. Occupation categories are counted once, without employment weighting.

Limits

The chart export includes 427 occupations; the broader paper describes 436. Scores are not job-loss probabilities, observed automation rates or counts of dismissed people. The source and required adaptation notice are shown beside the charts.

Model metadata & listed pricesLatest included period / snapshot: 2026-10-23

OpenRouter Models API

What it covers

Context capacity, modalities and per-token prices for the curated model families. Snapshot time is when metadata was observed, not when a model was released.

Limits

Marketplace list prices are not measured model quality, model usage or a guaranteed bill. Caching, tools and route-specific charges may differ.

Original source
Independent model evaluationsLatest included period / snapshot: 2026-10-23

Epoch AI · benchmark runs

What it covers

Numeric Epoch-authored GPQA Diamond, FrontierMath tiers 1–3 v2, MATH level 5, SimpleQA Verified and OTIS Mock AIME 2024–2025 results. Mean scorer, max reasoning setting, explicit model identity links and individual evaluation dates. CC BY 4.0; attribution: Epoch AI, Capabilities & benchmarking.

Limits

External project results, evaluation logs and benchmark questions are excluded. Same named reasoning setting does not imply equal compute. Input list price is not the total price of a benchmark run. Dataset hash and run IDs are exposed in the explorer.

Original source
AI laboratory financial historyLatest included period / snapshot: Source report dates retained per observation

Epoch AI · company economics

What it covers

Reported annualized run rates, ARR and annual period revenue are separate metrics. Closed primary equity, secondary transactions, debt and post-money valuations are separate series. Attribution: Josh You, John Croxton, Venkat Somala, Yafah Edelman / Epoch AI. CC BY 4.0.

Limits

Company disclosures and media reports retain source confidence. Unclosed commitments, missing observation dates, future records, product/division scope and interpolated annual revenue are excluded. These records are not audited statements by default.

Original source

Original source
Notable model activity by countryLatest included period / snapshot: 2010–2026; current year to date

Epoch AI · model history

What it covers

Publication-year counts of models with recorded notability criteria, by developer organization country. Full counting; a multinational model counts once per country, once in a fixed EU27 aggregate. CC BY 4.0 attribution to Epoch AI.

Limits

Non-exhaustive historical selection, not a count of all AI activity or national capability score. Country totals are non-additive. Current year is incomplete.

Original source
Observed model trafficLatest included period / snapshot: 2026-10-16 to 2026-10-22 UTC

OpenRouter · public weekly usage

What it covers

Token volume and request counts for the 20 model variants in the publicly rendered weekly leaderboard. Explicit CC BY 4.0 attribution. The seven-day observation window is separate from capture time.

Limits

Composition percentages use only those 20 model variants as denominator. Not total OpenRouter share or global market share. Different tokenizers and free variants remain distinct. One weekly snapshot is not a historical trend; daily API ingestion still requires an API key.

Original source

SEC EDGAR

What it covers

Fiscal-year revenue, net income, operating cash flow, R&D expense and assets for companies relevant to AI. Source values are numerical filing facts.

Eurostat · isoc_eb_ai

What it covers

Enterprises with 10 or more employees using at least one AI technology, under the same survey indicator and population definition.

Limits

Survey coverage is European, not a worldwide adoption ranking. The EU is a regional aggregate. Missing country values remain missing.

Review windows vary by dataset: prices need more frequent checks than annual surveys. Automated source monitoring detects changes and failures for editorial review; it does not verify every number or publish replacements. Previous approved data remain available when a check fails.

Research definitions and attribution

Charts are selected, reformatted visualizations of the cited data. Units, observation periods, population definitions and uncertainty remain source-specific. Where marked, data is reused under CC BY 4.0; source-specific licence terms remain applicable.

Model registry and coverage audit

Snapshot 2026-10-26. We retain 3,636 Epoch research entries, 467 OpenRouter API offerings and 7 reviewed first-party Mistral entries as distinct source observations. These counts overlap and must not be added as a global model total.

7 identities have reviewed cross-source links. 177 similar-name groups remain review candidates. Missing release dates stay unknown; API creation times are not release dates. API availability and prices are separate from development-country counts.

Country counts use dated Epoch entries from 2010 onwards. Multinational models can appear in several countries, while the EU27 aggregate counts each source entry once. Current-year observations are partial. Official documentation may include retired models and hosted third-party models; presence on a provider website does not establish authorship. Family grouping does not merge versions, sizes or API routes into new releases.

Publisher repository metadata

5,371 repository records collected from selected Hugging Face namespaces. 4,780 have declared licence metadata and 2,941 have safetensors parameter totals. Snapshot 2026-10-25.

Repository metadata, not unique model releases. Parameter totals are serialized safetensors counts. Repository dates are not release dates. Licenses are publisher-declared identifiers, not a legal audit. Benchmark claims remain private and unverified. Repo creation and modification dates do not establish release dates. Hub region tags are not country-of-origin evidence. Namespace ownership is not proof of original authorship. Unspecified relationships are not labelled original models.

Stack Overflow Developer Survey

29 May–23 June 2025. Each survey question has its own response population; published figures are rounded.
